The Artwork’s Story - ‘Pain is interesting, it takes us where we most need to go in life’. This was a quote that inspired this piece. Sometimes we have to make painful choices in order to realise our desired futures, everything that is worth having comes at a cost. As painful as it may seem at the time, we may end up discovering more joy ahead of us than what we have left behind.

Here we see a journey that is about to begin, but something must be left behind before it can begin. The boat is not big enough for what the couple had planned together.
